Giulio Ceppi

Giulio is a leading architect and designer whose activities are focused on design and development of new materials and technologies. He is mentor to renowned design executives in the corporate sector and is a Design Ambassador for the Italian Government. He is a systems thinker whose passion for sustainability permeates all areas of Earth 300.

He studied Visual Design at the Scuola Politecnica di Milano and took a PhD at the Politecnico di Milano, where he’s been professor since 1995. He was the founder director of the new Master in Business Design at Domus Academy and contract professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Genova, Politecnico di Torino, Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, La Sapienza in Rome, Università Cattolica in Milan. He’s among the founders of Schola Italica and vice-president of Design for All Italy. He is also a Fellow at the London Interdisciplinary School (LIS).

From 1990 to 1999 he was coordinator of the Domus Academy Research Center and then senior design consultant at Philips Design. In 1999 he founded Total Tool Milano, a design network with offices in Milan and Buenos Aires, consulting and designing new business ideas worldwide for corporations as well for relevant public entities.

Giulio has also been a partner in many European Commission projects, such as the evaluation for the Grand San Bernardo tunnel (CH) and the new sustainable Green Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (E). Giulio gained the Compasso D’oro prize (special mention) for new siliconic materials (2005), the decongestion charge systems in London (2008), brands strategy for PepsiCo (2016) and it is included in ICSID Hall of fame. In 2013 the Villoresi EstAutogrill won the National Prize for Innovation in Service Design from the President of the Italian Republic, the Design for all award and the Dedalo/Minosse prize.

He has held several conferences and workshops in more than 30 countries among Europe and United States, Latin America and Asia. He lives and works in Milan and Como Lake, where he’s born in 1965.

Giulio is based in Milano and has been advising on the design of Earth 300 experience from its onset.
