Born in Palma de Mallorca, sailing and traveling was part of his daily routine from a young age; that passion soon translated into a 1st Class Masters Degree in Naval Architecture from the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde in Scotland and then joining the British Merchant Navy as an Engineering Officer.
Having worked with top level builders of superyachts such as Oceanco and Feadship in the Netherlands and developing over 60 projects, he developed a solid enough understanding of the trade to then found Iddes Yachts, now a leading Naval Architecture and Design Studio based in Barcelona recently awarded with the prestigious German Design and Red Dot International Design Awards. Ivan also founded Cosmopolitan Yachts, the only catamarans today using superyacht technology with the first one under construction.
Together with one of the leading businessmen in Ibiza, Ivan also founded Cosmopolitan Yachts, the only catamaran yachting company in the world to use superyacht technology, with the first one under construction Cosmopolitan Yachts is going to make waves on a global scale.
At Earth 300 he harnesses his creative thinking, technological knowledge and ship building experience to turn collective ideas into reality. This culminated in the design of the Earth 300 vessel which has captured worldwide imaginations. Ivan continues to lead all Earth 300 design activities, including the forthcoming Earth 300 Metaverse.
