Martin Christopher Yates

Martin works at the intersection of exponential technology and sustainability. He led Dell Technologies as its Chief Technology Officer, specialising in sustainable smart cities deployment globally. He also joined the G42 Group in UAE as its Senior Government Technology Officer. Martin imagines Earth 300 as the ultimate technology platform that can become Earth’s mobile library at sea.

Martin’s career experience is based within multinational companies developing leading-edge technology to commercialize and package for international markets.

Martin is a Singaporean citizen originally born in the UK. Over several years, he has supported the Singapore government’s business transformation programs, ensuring it continues to innovate its digital business capabilities, transform its workforce, and remain economically secure. He has had extensive experience within military defense services, energy, manufacturing, and financial services, before joining Dell in 2010 to lead cloud computing development and then its global Smart Cities practice as the CTO.

Martin is deeply passionate about new technology and has been leading in areas of digital twins, AI, blockchain, IOT, C5ISR, edge computing and has a deep history from the earliest days of cloud computing. Martin is appointed as Singapore Computer Society Fellow and Executive Member of the Smart Nation Chapter of the Singapore Technology Industry.

Martin serves as a grassroots leader in his community, a national CERT team member for emergency response, and a government party member supporting government policy.
Martin has been part of Earth 300 since 2019 and is the brains behind the technology architecture envisaged to be on board Earth 300, which is set to become a benchmark in global maritime technological excellence.
