The launch of our newsletter
on World Oceans Day

Every quarter we want to share with you the things we think are really cool. Here’s volume one, number one. We were excited to launch this first newsletter on World Oceans Day (June 8th) and are honoured and humbled that Ai Weiwei has agreed to grace the cover with a specially autographed work of his soulful art.

Earth 300 global launch

At the famed Clifford Pier in Singapore, members of the Foreign Correspondents Association, along with a number of industry and environmental leaders, were invited to the global launch of Earth 300 on 30 Mar 2021. Present at the event were Earth 300’s Founder & CEO, Aaron Olivera, as well as a number of key partners from Singapore and around the globe.

The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Cazmir Leenheer, a ethics and politics major at Bard College, knows that she and her contemporaries will have to deal with the consequences of human-induced climate change.
A research scientist at UC San Diego and ocean exploration advisory board member of the NOAA, Dominique Rissolo believes that understanding our planet in big and bold new ways is the key to our future on this planet.
The aviation industry may not be the first you think of when it comes to solving climate change, but every area of human activity has its impact on the environment. Matteo Atti, Global Head of Marketing and Innovation at VistaJet is one such agent of change.
Where some see waste, others see an opportunity to create value. Nic Gorini, Founder and Managing Partner at Spin Ventures, is on a mission to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
A microbial ecologist based in Singapore, Federico Lauro studies microbes in the ocean. These microbes are the basis for the food chain, without them there would be no fish. They also produce more than half of the oxygen we breathe every day.
One of the most important aspects of Earth 300, according to Martin Yates, is planning for technology that’s not quite there yet. Quantum computing, for example, can help transform the vessel into a floating mobile library of the world’s entire knowledge.
